Departments allow administrators to organize users into logical groups, making it easier to manage permissions, reports, and communication across the organization.

Overview

Departments help organize users by teams, divisions, or functional areas. This organizational structure supports permission management and reporting workflows.

How to Access

  1. Log in as an administrator
  2. Navigate to Users in the sidebar
  3. Click on Departments

Prerequisites

  • Administrator role required

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: View Departments

The departments page shows a hierarchical list of all departments with their member counts.

Step 2: Create a Department

Click Add Department. Enter the department name and select an optional parent department for hierarchy.

Step 3: Add Users to Department

Select a department and click Manage Members. Search for and select users to add to the department.

Step 4: Set Department Manager

Assign a manager to each department who can oversee department members and activities.

Step 5: Edit or Delete Departments

Click on a department to edit its details. Use the Delete button to remove a department (users will not be deleted).

Troubleshooting

Issue: Cannot delete department with users

Solution: Remove all users from the department first, then delete.
